Question by JusticeToAll: Why do some people continue to follow like sheep the "conventional" traditional "way of life"?
Those concepts dont exist anymore as such. Why maintain the fantasy?
Religious happenings, traditions and bureocratic requirements are all commercialized and in many instances forced on most people.
There are aglomerations "bottlenecks" and "waitinglists" for many activities just to fit in with the date of the time "you are supposed to do this or that" You dont have to stop doing certain things you WANT to do but for Pete's sake shouldnt the laws be changed so that you can do them when, if it suits you or if you want to? so avoid a lot of inconveniences for you and other people? for e.g. it could be mother's day, St. Valentine, Xmas, Thanks Giving, or whatever, all year arround. It is the thought that counts not when or how the material paraphernalia is accomplished. Why are weddings so idealised? Marriage is NOT and has never been a bed of roses. It is like believing in Father Xmas, why lie to little girls about it? simply to have a party "better than the Jones's?

Many beliefs are deeply entrenched into the psyches of people from birth all through their lives. Many are comfortable with their practices and feel that these traditions give meaning to their lives as well as give them a reason to party. Of course, if you look at the history of many of these practices, are based on Pagan beliefs mixed with Biblical beliefs, so our modern practices have no real basis. If people were to discover this, many would be disillusioned. Of course, big businesses will make sure we don't discover this so they can maintain their high profit margins selling useless crap to the masses.

First of all yes you are right about one thing for sure….marriage is not a bed of roses. People have different believes in life itself. It is part of life and it will always be that way until the end of time.
